Eggnog is a classic holidays treat that is known the world over. Eggnog is a social drink, much better served to a group of family and friends in a large 'help yourself' punch bowl. Even if you are not in a cold climate you still tend to imagine the cold winters night outside with a large bowl of Christmas cheer on the table.
Eggnog is a fantastic cocktail that traditionally celebrates the festive month of December, but is not limited to this time of year.
Many people make eggnog through the year when it is not available as a shop bought item. It's staggering just how many different eggnog recipes are out there on the net, many offerings have been passed down through the generations, other eggnog recipes are new created out of (sometimes) alcohol induced bouts of creativity. Some are good, some are GREAT, and admittedly a few eggnogs are a bit of hit and miss altogether.
If you happen to be someone who is yet to try eggnog we can almost guarantee that once you try this delicious drink you will be looking for that special eggnog recipe that you can make your own tradition.
Disregard the high fat and sugar content, you only make it a couple of times a year so there's no need to feel guilty for the treat. If its not creamy and sweet and delectably full in flavour then you haven't found the one that's right for you!

|Eggnog. Festive Cocktail|
The classic eggnog recipe of the season is a traditionally made with brandy, whisky or rum. Or varying mixes of all three depending on tastes.
We like our eggnog 'spiked' so to speak, but for those who do not partake of alcohol you can always leave it out and enjoy the pure eggnog taste which is still delicious and warming.
